Marine Tech Expo

Attention, in application of the precautionary principle in the face of the Covid 19 epidemic, the event is cancelled.

Plymouth is hosting its third Marine Tech Expo in 2020, designed to demonstrate the South Coast's marine credentials to the world during the Mayflower 400 commemorations.

The event will bring together the decision makers, innovators and enterprises involved in the latest advances in marine technology.

Following the success of previous Marine Tech Expo events in 2016 and 2018, this 2020 event – delivered in association with Oceansgate and hosted at Turnchapel Wharf – will focus its attention on Autonomous Applications and Sustainable Marine technologies, showcasing innovation and research from an inspiring line up of experts and contributors.

THE PROGRAMME

Day One | Wednesday 1 July

The expo will explore the application of autonomy in marine science and the commercial world through a series of talks.

Day Two | Thursday 2 July

The conference will be centred on sustainability within the marine world, touching on methods of propulsion, energy sources and our impact on the ocean environment.

Networking & Exhibitions

In addition to the packed two day conference, delegates will also be able to network directly with commercial businesses and partner organisations at the exhibition which will allow you to see first-hand the latest technology and systems supporting the marine world.

Smart Sound Demonstration Tours

Utilising Plymouth’s unique ‘Smart Sound’ proving range as a stage, the Marine Business Technology Centre, working closely with the Future Autonomous at Sea Technology Cluster, will be carefully curating a series of in sea demonstrations of autonomous platforms and environment monitoring systems.

Businesses and innovators across the globe will be given the opportunity to witness demonstrations of new technology in real world conditions live. Businesses will also be given the opportunity to view the command and control centre for the Smart Sound, based at Thales’ Autonomous Operations Centre.
