UBO

With 23,000 students, including 500 PhD students, and 2,300 teachers, lecturers and support staff, the UBO is a multi-disciplinary university offering more than 300 courses in Brittany and fulfilling the ambitions of the Institut National Supérieure du Professorat et de l'Education for the entire education authority.

It brings together 32 research units covering 4 areas: Marine, Human and Social Sciences, Mathematics and Numerics, Health-Agro-matter. It benefits from a strong differentiating marker in marine sciences and technologies, enriched by the many interdisciplinary collaborations of its students and staff.

As a metropolitan university, UBO is a major economic player in the region and aims to be a driving force in its environment. The UBO offers its community a fablab: UBO OPEN FACTORY, and a Foundation supported by socio-economic partners to bring innovative projects to fruition.

The UBO is a member of the Sea-EU European University, which brings together 6 universities in Europe (Kiel, Gdansk, Split, Malta, Cadiz and Brest). It is also a member of the Alliance Universitaire de Bretagne (AUB) with the Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Brest (ENIB) and the Université Bretagne Sud (UBS).
