A public body in step with professional organisations:
The Centre Européen de Formation Continue Maritime, chaired by Jean Philippe Casanova, General Delegate of Armateurs de France, has been in existence since 1998. It is a public body, a Groupement d'Intérêt Public (Public Interest Group), which has the unique feature of bringing together on its board of directors the supervisory authorities for maritime education - Maritime Affairs -; the relevant local authorities, including the Brittany Region and the Finistère General Council; and representatives of the various maritime industry sectors: transport and trade (Armateurs de France), fishing, shellfish farming and boating.
