Founded by Marie Le Texier in 2017, ConsultantSeas was born out of the desire to reconcile environmental commitment and entrepreneurship. Marie Le Texier is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris in environmental policies and an engineer specializing in water sciences. She then worked at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), where she initiated and led a working group on ocean plastics. Her experience in oceanographic research at the Institute for Research and Development (IRD) allowed her to develop a scientific expertise that she now applies within her company.
Passionate about the ocean, she wants to prove that it is possible to combine life by the sea, ecological commitment, and ambitious entrepreneurial activity.
Perspectives and ambitions
"80% of marine pollution comes from land, it’s a vast problem. ConsultantSeas provides solutions to companies that are at the heart of the plastic pollution issue. It is crucial to work with NGOs and scientists on these topics," explains Marie Le Texier.

Historically focused on large companies, ConsultantSeas has recently developed a specific offer for SMEs and mid-sized businesses (ETIs) to reduce their plastic footprint. Aware that these structures face the same regulatory requirements as large groups without always having the necessary resources, the company offers tailored support to meet their needs. In this dynamic, ConsultantSeas was awarded the "Transitions in the Economy" project call from Best Métropole, enabling the company to develop its SME offer dedicated to the agri-food sector. The consulting firm also received support from the Brittany Region, through the Inno Exé Sobriété grant, to adapt and develop its SME offer for local cosmetic companies.
Companies such as Terre d'Embruns, the Hénaff Group, Usapalla, and Phytomer are among the first beneficiaries of this innovative approach.
"ConsultantSeas provides a pragmatic roadmap with advisory sheets on actions, reporting, and communication, which immediately lead to potential solutions. The tone and spirit of the support are constructive and pleasant, without being dogmatic or alarmist."
– Tristan Lagarde, CEO of Phytomer Group
During our meeting with the ConsultantSeas team, we spoke with Garance Tulard, a junior consultant and Master's student at Sciences Po Rennes. She introduced a project under the Beyond Plastic Med (BeMed) program, which aims to combat plastic pollution in the Mediterranean.
For this project, ConsultantSeas recently helped a Tunisian hotel transition to a zero single-use plastic model. Notably, the hotel’s investments were recouped in less than 3 months, and 6000 Tunisian dinars could be saved annually, in addition to the return on investment. Over the course of a year, the project would also prevent the use of 11,450 plastic items.

Beyond the Mediterranean basin, ConsultantSeas works on missions ranging from Laos to the Indian Ocean, as well as throughout Africa. The firm's international expansion has only strengthened in recent years.
