We believe in making artificial intelligence accessible in Congo, fostering a collaborative community for shared growth, and empowering individuals with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.
We are organizing an edition of Ocean Hackathon® because we are deeply concerned about the sustainability of our ocean ecosystem in the Gulf of Guinea—a region that plays a vital role in feeding our communities in Pointe-Noire and beyond. With the ocean undergoing rapid changes due to climate change and considering that in 25 years we’ll face increased populations and dwindling resources, it’s imperative to develop innovative solutions for monitoring water quality, curbing illegal fishing, and driving marine decarbonization. Moreover, there is a notable gap in marine science education in Central Africa. Through this Ocean Hackathon®, we want to empower young people (aged 15–30) by training them to study the oceans and, ultimately, pave the way for establishing a dedicated marine science school in our region.
